Method groups

Method groups are focused on specific areas of expertise that cut across all projects conducted within the Research on Research and Technology Network. These groups meet on a regular basis to discuss topics of interest simultaneously focusing on specific projects as well as methodological topics of interest

There are currently five method groups:
    1. Database, ontologies, and natural language processing group - focuses on the data collection, data conversion, quality control, and storage of data in formats that are easy to access and integrate into other data repositories
    2. Data mining and statistics group - focuses on methods to convert raw data into information that might be of value to peers, healthcare providers and the general public.
    3. Systems modeling - focuses on methods to aggregate different sources of information into System Dynamics and Agent-based models that can then be used to communicate information to peers, healthcare providers, policy makers, and the general public, providing them with a mechanism to act based on that information
    4. Behavioral modification and communication group - focuses on methodologies to communicate scientific findings to the general public, healthcare providers and peer researchers, as well as how to make that communication change behaviors such as providing incentives toward the use of preventive measures, use of evidence-based medicine, increase organ donation, among others.
    5. Technology - focuses on the processes behind the creation of Intellectual Property and commercialization of research-based products going all the way from the evaluation of novelty criteria to the creation of start-up companies.
